Join artist and printer, Dewey Tafoya, in the second of three mono printmaking demonstrations showing how to create rich colorful prints from home. Following the techniques from the first class, Dewey will incorporate the different color inks with bottles instead of a brush.
Monoprints are a painterly form of printmaking that can only be made once, unlike most printmaking methods. Missed the introduction workshop? Watch the video on SHG's Youtube channel.

What you’ll need to participate:
•It’s helpful to have a sketch ready.
•Have your favorite brushes on hand. Inexpensive brushes also work.
•Inks: Use water-based screen print inks, such as Speedball or Blick brands. You can away with tempera paints or acrylic paints. If too thick, water them down.
•Paper to print: card stock, watercolor paper, printmaking paper, etc.
•Screen: 160-200 Amesh screen. If you don't have a screen frame, you can use an embroidery hoop with a screen mesh that can be purchased online.
•Tape for the screen. Scotch tape or packing tape works best.
•Thin Plexiglass or clear mylar sheet to place over your sketch and under the screen
•A squeegee to pull your print.
•Ink palette for inks or a paper plate.
•Water hose or large sink to clean the screen.
