Our 1300 E. 1st St. Building is currently closed to the public in preparation of our building renovation to commence spring 2024. During the temporary building closure, our Professional Print Program, workshops, community and youth programming, special events, exhibitions and Barrio Mobile Art Studio services remain in operation.

COVID-19 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
We currently do not require masks indoors or check vaccinations as part of our programming and workshops. Masking is optional at this time. Please do not participate in programs, workshops or schedule an in-person meeting if you are sick, have been exposed to COVID in the last 7 days, show symptoms of COVID-19, or have a COVID positive test result.
We reserve the right to update our COVID-19 policies as needed in compliance with the City and County of Los Angeles’ public health ordinances. Thank you for working with us to ensure the health and safety of all program and event participants and office visitors.

Our permanent building is located in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Boyle Heights on 1st and Anderson, across the street from the Metro Goldline Pico/Aliso stop. Note: During our building closure our administrative team is located at an off-site office. Meetings are by appointment only.

Directions & PARKING
Building temporary closed for renovation.
Driving: Located near the 101 (Exit Mission) and 5 (Exit 4th St.) freeways.
Public Transit: We are located directly across the street from the Pico/ Aliso station off of the Metro L Line (formerly “Gold Line”). Local Bus Stops 30/ 330 are also located nearby.
Walking: Self Help Graphics is a 10 minute walk west of Mariachi Plaza in Boyle Heights and a 20 minute walk over the 1st Street Bridge east of Downtown’s Little Tokyo.
Parking: Limited parking is available on our site. Enter on 1st St. through our gated lot, adjacent to our building or use street parking.

Student Interview requests
For students wishing to interview Self Help Graphics & Art staff and artists for academic related projects (non news/journalism), please submit inquiries to info@selfhelpgraphics.com a minimum of 30 days in advance of your deadline.
In addition, due to the large number requests for student interviews, and in order to support the sustainability of Self Help Graphics & Art, we ask that students submitting interview inquiries commit to volunteering with our organization in order to facilitate a reciprocal collaboration. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
