Join Kalli Arte in celebrating the publication of the exhibition catalog, Sueños Real.

The evening will include an Open Studio, which gives visitors a peek into Kalli Arte's creative process and current projects. Feel free to ask questions and watch them in action in order to learn more about their work.

In addition to their book signing, Kalli Arte will be hosting a guided tour of their exhibition, which will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. Hear first hand from the artists their influences, challenges, and successes in creating Sueños Real!

SHG is excited to kick off the monthly Open Studio with Beyond the Press artists in residence Kalli Arte. The Open Studio is an opportunity to engage with the artists, ask questions and see their work in progress. Stop by Thursday, April 21st from 4–8 pm.


Kalli Arte is formed by self-taught artists and printmakers Adriana Carranza and Alfonso Aceves from Boyle Heights.

Beyond The Press invites one interdisciplinary artist to create a new body of work over the course of a year. The work created during the residency will culminate with an exhibition in SHG’s 1,200 square foot gallery space. Artists are selected through a nomination process and by invitation only. Once an artist is nominated, they are contacted and invited to complete an online application and submit work samples.

Beyond The Press is SHG's new iteration of the Artist in Residence (AIR) program that invites interdisciplinary artists to create a new body of work over six month period.

Thank you for working with us to ensure the health and safety of all visitors and that we're in compliance with the City of Los Angeles ordinance.
