Veteran Atelier (Transitions)
A transition is the emotional, mental, and or even physical passage from one point or state to another. For this atelier, SHG invited a multigenerational group of military veteran artists whose paths led them to transition from civilians to soldiers to artists. The seven artists will address themes already embedded in their practice or explore new concepts through a Serigraph print. While SHG has always been a home to a community of veterans who sought the arts to manage PTSD or connect to a community of artists, Transitions will be the first veteran-focused suite of serigraphs printed at SHG.
The Veteran Atelier is made possible through the generous support of the Pasadena Art Alliance.

Maestrxs Atelier
The Maestrxs Atelier, curated by artist Rosalie Lopez, will be the sixth iteration in this series bringing together seven women and women-identified artists. The first Maestras atelier took place in 1999 and was curated by artist and CSUN professor Yreina Cervantez. Maestrxs was the first atelier focused on bringing together an intergenerational group of women-identified artists to have both seasoned and new printmakers support each other through the creative process. This latest iteration of the Maestrxs atelier now uses an “x” to be more inclusive of the many genders and gender non-conforming identities in our community today.
Rosalie and the cohort will receive mentorship from Yreina Cervantez. Together, Rosalie and Yreina will work closely with the cohort of artists to lead peer-to- peer critiques and learning sessions to encourage dialogue among the group and provide them with constructive feedback to fuel their creative growth.
