The Women’s Center for Creative Work (WCCW) is excited to announce the fourth year of our Emergency Health Grant for Artists initiative! Thanks to a generous anonymous donation and the WHH Foundation, we’re excited to announce that $65,000 in grant money is available to eligible artists of all fields with a medical, mental health, or dental emergency or an illness-related financial need.

This year we are excited to facilitate the grant for a second time with our community partners Mujeres de Maiz, Sustainable Little Tokyo, and artist and producer Cori Consuelo, and Physician Assistant Kayla McLaughlin, MPAS.

Applications will be accepted between March 1st and April 7th, 2019. Applications are due by 11:59pm PST on April 7th.

Eligibility
Artists of all disciplines who:

Live in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, or Orange Counties.
Identify as one or more of the following: female, transgender, non-binary, person of color, or low-income.
Have a medical, mental health, or dental emergency, OR have an illness-related financial need.
Are not enrolled in a full-time academic program.
Are at least 21 years old.


Artists in all disciplines and stages of their career are eligible to apply. Artists are not required to be US citizens. Applications may be submitted on behalf of an eligible artist unable to submit it on their own.

We welcome applications from professional artists of all disciplines who live in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, or Orange Counties, and those who identify as one or more of the following: female, transgender, non-binary, low-income, or person of color (including, but not limited to: individuals of African-American, Asian, Latino/Hispanic, Native American, Middle Eastern, or Pacific Islander descent).

Applications will be accepted between March 1st and April 7, 2019. A panel comprised of representatives from our community partner organizations and a medical professional will select grant recipients based on applicant eligibility, artistic merit, urgency of need, and the potential for the grant to be used effectively.

Information and grant writing assistance sessions will be held at the WCCW and in connection with community partner organizations during the open application period.
