The Intro to Printmaking (Monoprint and Collage) Workshop focuses on teaching participants of all levels and ages how to create a mini Family Portrait (5x7 inch) using monoprint and photo-collaging techniques.

Participants who attend the Intro to Printmaking (Monoprint and Collage) Workshop will develop their Family Portraits by composing a layout out at the beginning of the workshop. A quick critique of the composition precedes the final steps to completing the final print. 

Participants are able to create these Family Portraits at SHG by learning how to conceptualize designs, composition and the use of space from a squared canvas to irregular shapes such as a found street objects. Participants also learn color design by mixing and matching color palettes, and also balancing the portrait with the design of the final collage.
