Celebrating Cultural Vitality on #GivingTuesday

Text “shg22” to 41444 to give

Dear Self Help Graphics Comunidad,

Thank you for joining us this past year as Self Help Graphics & Arts focused our 49th Anniversary investing in our artists, our community, and our infrastructure. Our printmaking studio hosted the Indigenous Women’s Atelier while our exhibitions unearthed dreams, refugee stories on pink donut boxes and a Día de los Muertos celebrating loved ones through songs. Our parking lot welcomed a new mural from our Youth Artivist Committee mural and Refugio’s Garden as a physical center for the community for community to connect and rejuvenate. And finally, this year has been about continuing to solidify Self Help’s future through this vital community milestone: we’ve paid off the mortgage! What a powerful success for the community to now be able to focus on deepening our investment in artists, community, and each other.

Looking ahead, 2023 brings with it our 50th anniversary year - more details to come on many ways to celebrate - and the beginning of our much needed building renovation.  Your gift this year will go directly to supporting SHG’s work cultivating vital spaces for artists, youth artivists, elders, staff, and more.  We thank you on this Giving Tuesday as we launch our year end campaign, and appreciate your support today and any time before the end of year. Generosity is contagious; if you would like to donate, please use the link to make a one-time or recurring donation or text SHG22 to 41444 to support and celebrate our cultural vitality today

On behalf of the staff and board of directors, thank you for championing community-based Chicana/o/x, Latine, and BIPOC artists.

With gratitude and in solidarity,
