Southern California is home to more than 20 million people, and this will be the only fair in the region dedicated to original prints. From traditional Japanese woodcuts to impressionist masters and leading contemporary artists, the Los Angeles Fine Print Fair features 18 internationally recognized fine print dealers.

This fair offers collectors a unique opportunity to connect with leading art dealers and purchase prints in a relaxed environment where one can view prints and learn from the field’s leading experts.

The Opening Night Preview is a party benefitting Self Help Graphics, with tickets available for $25. Self Help Graphic is a non-profit organization that has been promoting and teaching printmaking in East Los Angeles for more than 40 years. The community arts center was one of the primary centers that incubated the Chicano art movement in the 1970’s.

As a center of culture, Self Help Graphics also hosts musical and other performances, and organizes Los Angeles’s annual Day of the Dead festivities. Throughout its history, the organization has worked with well-known artists in the Los Angeles area such as Los Four and the East Los Streetscapers, but it has focused primarily on training and giving exposure to young and new artists, many of whom have gone on to national and international prominence.

Special programs during the Fair include:

Saturday, 10 am: a walk-thru with Curator Dr. Timothy Benson (head of the Robert Gore Rifkind Center for German Expressionist Studies, LACMA).

Sunday, 11 am: Panel discussion on care of prints, including conservation, appraising and insurance.
